Maidens Barn is set in the heart of the Essex countryside, and is a beautifully restored barn which dates back to 1806. The building retains its original exposed beams, vaulted ceilings, and rustic brickwork, creating a warm and romantic atmosphere for your special day.
Large floor-to-ceiling windows & doors throughout the venue flood the Barns with natural light, allowing guests to enjoy the beauty of the countryside from indoors.
We are open all year round, with couples being able to choose to exchange their vows inside the Oak Barn, surrounded by rustic beauty, or choose an outdoor ceremony in the gardens or courtyard, where the peaceful countryside forms a perfect backdrop.
Conveniently located in North Essex, we are in easy reach of Chelmsford with a direct train line into London as well as Stansted airport.

Jules and I honestly cannot thank you, Alex, Mercedes, Elliott and the rest of the team for all their efforts to ensure that we had the best day of our lives!
Choosing Maidens Barn as our venue was the best decision we have ever made! There was no stone left unturned and communication from you and Mercedes was just extraordinary.
From the initial meeting with Elliott, right up to the big day, you have all been AMAZING! You really do look after your couples from beginning to end and that really doesn't go amiss.
Thanks to you all, Jules and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole process of planning our wedding, no stresses, no worries, no problems and that is all down to you, Mercedes and Elliott reassuring us at every step of the way.
You will all forever a very special place in our hearts - such a wonderful team that do wonderful things to ensure that every couple has the best day of their lives. We will remember our wedding day at Maidens Barn fondly forever - it was so lovely to be there in the moment and it gave us great pleasure to see all of our guests enjoying themselves all day / night in your beautiful venue.
